Exploring Daily Journeys/Routes through Paint|Investigating Deconstructed Electronics through Dry-Point Print
Project Rationale 1: 2nd year students took part in this scheme, it was the basis for my research project which delved into alternative sketchbook practice and individual creativity. Students explored their daily journeys, photographing naturally complied ‘set-ups’ of varied textures and forms that would usually go unnoticed. Compositions were investigated through atypical sketchbook practice and final mixed-media paintings. Mixed media was used to achieve the various textures and layers within their compositions.
Project Rationale 2: 1st year students studied a range of dissembled electronics which were compiled into a still-life nature; overlapping and layered. After numerous varied drawings tasks, pupils created their own composition from their collection of drawings. This design was etched and turned into a dry-point A4 print. Their final prints conveyed the material of the assorted objects through mark-making and reflected their knowledge of the dry-point process.
