Aoibhinn Corcoran is a new media artist, working primarily with the immateriality of digital work. Her current practice deals with the issues surrounding the use of copyrighted material for artistic commentary. She looks for loop holes under fair use and how they allow artists to appropriate the work of others, within the confines of the law. She uses the internet born aesthetic of deep fried memes, where through layering of filters, user generated content can surpass copyright infringement.
