Meet Bina, a narcissistic hyper-consumerist with a love for all things colourful and tacky. Bina is a complex character with multiple personalities, appearing in a multitude of colours in order to represent how she is feeling. Bina’s world is unlike ours, hers does not share or possess the same morals or ideals.
With Instagram’s relentless emphasis on promoting the ‘perfect’ lifestyle, Bina has emulated these seemingly ‘ideal’ lifestyles in the hopes of building her social media presence and following, with her main aim in becoming an Instagram ‘it girl’.
My work aims to challenge our shallow consumeristic lifestyles through the use of humour, poking fun at the superficial and perplexing world of ‘Insta-fame’.
