Rabbit Hole
The plot of the short revolves around a strip club worker. She is shown working in the club doing various things in a montage-esc
sequence before her shift ends. She then walks to her bus stop in the rain. On her walk she is interrupted by some passerby in a car
that verbally harass her and drive through a puddle, splashing her with water. She shrugs it off as something she has grown
accustomed to before making it to her bus stop, squatting down beside it. A child with their mother, who are also at the stop notices her and in an act of kindness, walks over and shields her
from the rain with their umbrella. When the mom notices she pullsthe child away from our protagonist who is touched by this act of kindness.
My goal with this story is to humanize people who work in sexual fields and to display that they are human beings who are just as
depthful and multifaceted as anyone else. I want to show the endurance required to be in this field of work as a woman, as
disrespect, disgust and hate is unfortunately something that very often comes with this kind of work. While I do not feel like I am
capable of fully tackling this large issue, especially in a college short film, these are elements I wanted to keep in mind as I
designed this story and animation.
