Emotions from just Colour
I love working with Colours, for me though it is that block or stripped back colouring with bold lines or large circles which works best. I believe this can be shown as a very powerful image or even as a tool. Solid colouring invokes, no demands strong emotions. Although not all blissful and can easily run to deep sadness, anger and even to rage, but in this format, that rawness of colours it can be as real and as beautiful as the emotions they provoke. Colour never asks forgiveness for this but can sometimes show compassion in that stillness or of that power and of its beauty.
My Work needs to interact with viewers, to be lovingly gazed at, or from a cold stare of the audience to really work. Their memories or emotional reactions from each colour or a combination of lots of colours will then only allow my imagery, my art to fully come alive.
I only ask that someone viewing the images to allow the colours time to play with their minds, allow the colours to make them feel sadness and or happiness all in the same split second.
Having spent 4 years making complicated images, I now feel that it is colour itself in this raw simple format, or even in its boldness or splendour where I want to explore more and where I want my own Artist direction and journey to continue.
