‘Oblivion’

Oblivion is a print and digital publication highlighting the issues surrounding Mark Zuckerberg’s ‘Metaverse’. The publication is predominantly type focused, implementing its own unapologetic expression through two noticeably distinctive typefaces. The concept behind the typeface is to portray the people who are aware of the metaverse and the oblivious. Accompanying this is a two-tone colour palette, the corporate blue is the standard welcoming blue, it’s familiar and, supposedly, trustworthy. Whereas the amber is in place as a virtual alarm bell. The publication not only contains informative articles and imagery but also a reader’s voice, in an attempt to make people truly question the metaverse.

The publication is a direct aim to raise awareness of the metaverse for the right reasons. It highlights all the negatives and the things ‘Meta’ doesn’t want you to see. The publication is accompanied by print posters and digital artwork to further engage the public and create a visual understanding.
