Coffee Talk

There are experiences in life that have a certain assumed commonality. Yet are often

completely alien to us. Coffee shops are a familiar sight to most people. But they’re

still an aspect of culture that is surrounded in mystery for many of us. It exists in a

niche, a culture within a culture almost. In many ways it is a microculture that has the

possibility of helping us see the wider aspects of the reflected in miniature.

The alien aspect of the culture is explored quite literally in the film.

Which is set in a speculative reality where we see a training video familiarizing alien

species with the common practices of coffee shop life. Will they

be able to successfully navigate coffee shops and come away with new skills and knowledge.

And what does the entire process say about humanity and our need for complex micro societies.
