An investigation into the movement of the body and the depiction of the abstracted figure through drawing and making

This short course was designed for the junior cycle art curriculum in order to allow students to actively explore drawing as a pathway to creating three-dimensional sculpture. The students experimented with the depiction of the figure through life-drawing and plaster sculpture. They created abstract, figurative sculptures in response to minimalist drawings that captured various poses and interrogated movements of the body.
