Quiescent Crescendo

This body of work serve as a bridge, illustrating that beauty can emerge from shadows when truly confronted. Ceramics, photography, video and audio are combined to create a multisensory portal into my subconscious and connect with viewers in a way that demonstrates how I experience the world around me.
Within my dark internal world, I explore the complex relationship between disassociation and self-awareness. In my safe dark space, I find peace. Here, It is easier to pretend. This darkness has a fear and reluctance to be exposed. Through my work I aim to capture the tension & transitioning from the hidden sanctuary to the vulnerability of light. Each element reflects the struggle & revealing of one’s inner self.
Trauma is not something from which one becomes free. It is a deep scar of which you are always conscious.
It’s how you think,
It’s how you move,
It’s how you stand,
It’s how you talk,
It’s how you see,
It’s how you feel.
It can become your identity.
My work gives me freedom to connect with my authentic self. It’s my place where the chaos becomes calm. It does not set me free from my trauma. My trauma is my story and my work is who I truly am
