Exploring the sonic capability of everyday objects, my work decontextualizes objects from their everyday use and subverts preconceptions of what a musical instrument can be. Examining how we encounter commonplace items, the work aims to challenge values of passive observation and encourage experiential learning.
The interactive work is realised through an ‘investigative sound laboratory’ in which the artist will continue their research over the course of the week, generating a discursive environment whereby results are formed through play and shared learning.
