Imagine is the story of a prepubescent child faced with an everyday situation which their imagination exaggerates and battles with itself between fear and hope. The film is aimed a younger audience of ten to thirteen year old.
It is a 2D animated film of three minutes with a mixture of rigged and traditional drawn animation. I chose to do both rigged and drawn animation to show my skills in both. The film was created in Toon Boom Harmony and composited in Adobe After Effects. Backgrounds have been drawn in Illustrator and painted in Photoshop.
I created the story based off my own experiences as a child with an overactive imagination and how I came to find a solution to conquering the fears I created in myself. Alex, the story’s protagonist is a gender neutral character so as not to prelude that fear is selective to girls or boys and give it a wider target audience.
