Themes of isolation, loneliness and loss are explored as the viewer is drawn into the world beyond the confines of the traditional frame. Using the medium of Virtual Reality, the viewer will be transported into the reality and memories of another person and see the world through their eyes. The immersive work is accessed through a HTC Vive Head Mounted Display and uses both digitally created virtual worlds along with 360-degree video.
The artist uses the immersive nature of the medium of Virtual Reality to evoke an empathetic response from the viewer and allow them to step into another reality for a brief moment in time. The layering of physical objects, virtual spaces and real imagery allows for both a physical and visual experience for the viewer.
