See These?
‘See These?’ translates the fleeting, the complex, and the intangible. The depth of meaning soaked within the curation of mixtapes suprasses the ability of words alone, acting as a universal language that lives in the spaces between persons. Harnessing the unremitting ties between music and memory, ‘See These?’ combines the creation of both tracklist and album art as a collaborative form of communication, outside of speech and gesture, to connect to and be understood by others.
No language comes to life alone. Every CD in ‘See These?’ is a concert; from musicians, photographers, listeners, those who intertwined memories with song, type designers, all the way to those who built the programmes facilitating these creations. At the core of ‘See These?’ lies an invitation to join the process throughout the duration of the degree show and into the future. Every mixtape is available to be played, the continuation of the project will be run from the Sculpture studio, and a dictionary of songs and their personal meanings is available to be added to. This is the conversation of ‘See These?’’s language.
