WITNESS

Exploring notions of violence and trauma, my work deals with subject matters of domestic violence, sexual assault and rape. I am informed by dialogical processes of enquiry and I am struck by the stark reality of the concealment, entrapment, physical and mental abuse caused by these matters.

Throughout my project I have explored and transcended victim’s stories into artworks of photography, performance, sculpture and film. My presence within the frame of the works has been an important and vital factor as I bear witness to these locations, situations and stories of violation, abuse and vicious actions endured both by women and girls.
