Social Inhale

This series of work comes post covid, with the introduction back into society and into social settings. This series of work makes references through the medium of vaping and also creates references to ecoplasm. It is the method of capturing a moment and documenting a social interaction post covid. Using vaping as a medium and playing with the unpredictablity and density of the smoke, creating a dense mask over the model. Whilst photographing in the intimate setting, the smoke clouds the face and moves in an unpredictable way, making this a repetitive process trying to capture and document. Using the method of drawing back into the images added an extra layer of detail to the piece. Looking back at the piece whilst working on, new lines or shapes that hadn’t been there before would come to light. With the drawing in place, you are given all those tiny tedious details.
