Aeon
Aeon is defined as an immeasurable or indefinite period of time, and as a mature student, getting to the end of the course period can feel like an Aeon. I began composing this song in 2019 before starting this course and it was largely left unfinished, but through the skills and education gained through completing this course, it enabled me to revisit the song with a different mindset, finally bringing it to completion.
I have a love for many different genres of music, in particular, I have a fascination with synthwave and the sound of the 80s. I think this song demonstrates the love for synthwave whilst including techniques and sounds more familiar in other genres
This song is a representation of changes that have been made to my production techniques and practices since commencing the course in Music Production and Technology. It has changed the way I approach composition, production, and engineering. This song is the first production implementing these changes and teachings.
