“…. But the little boy said… there are so many colours in the rainbow, so may colours in the morning sun, so may colours in the flower and I see every one…” Flowers are Red, by Harry Chapin

The inspiration for Caoimhe’s work comes from her love of nature, bright bold colours, texture and pattern. Caoimhe’s work explores the everchanging beauty of nature from the birth of new life in Spring, the vast array of Summer colour to the amazing changing of the colours in Autumn to the bleakness of Winter. Caoimhe has taken inspiration from the hidden gem which is Altamont Gardens and her own garden in her native county of Carlow. Her work has developed through a meticulous exploration of the beauty of nature, to  manipulating and transforming elements of nature to create works predominantly in the mode of abstraction. Her thought-provoking abstract paintings evoke a sense of amazement, wonder and exploration. Caoimhe works primarily through the medium of paint and constantly explores different elements of texture and pattern to further enhance her work and gain the attention of the viewer. Caoimhe endeavours to create pieces of art that will stimulate the mind of the viewer and bring pleasure and enjoyment to everyone who takes the time to engage with her work.
