This installation is created in memory of my beloved grandparents Anne and Michael Mulchrone, whom I lost last year. Their absence is something I carry with me every day, but so too is the love, warmth and guidance they gave me throughout my life.
Growing up beside my grandparents shaped who I am today. They were a constant source of comfort, strength and unconditional love. This work reflects not only the loss I have experienced, but the enduring connection I still feel to them.
I have drawn on the Willow Pattern, a traditional love story, and reimagined it through the lens of my own family. By intertwining this story with theirs, I wanted to capture the depth of their bond and the quiet, lasting love that defined their lives together.
This body of work is my way of holding onto them—of honouring their memory, their love and the life they helped me build. It is also a quiet reminder to cherish the people we hold close, while we still can.
