Nirvana Resort

As urbanisation continuously intrudes the rural landscapes, it has led to a disconnection between the human and the natural world. The Nirvana Resort would offer a unique retreat experience that allows the guests to escape from the crowded urban area. Cregg Castle that is located in the rural area of County Galway is strategically selected as the project site for Nirvana Resort.

The principal goal of Nirvana Resort is to create a harmonious and immersive environment that reconnects the individuals with nature in a sensory experience rooted in biophilic design principles. This is achieved by emphasising the five senses – touch, sight, hearing, smell, and taste of nature. The design stimulates a touch of natural texture, vision of colours and patterns from the natural world, the sound of water flowing, and the smell of the trees. A thoughtfully designed courtyard featuring flowing water further encourages the guests to step out and embrace the tranquillity of nature.

The design philosophy of Nirvana Resort draws inspiration from the natural elements of water, air, earth, and fire. Among these, water takes the centre stage, symbolising its rhythmic, flowing, and reflective features to foster a harmonious atmosphere within the space. Water, as a constantly flowing element, instils a sense of calmness and serenity within the retreat experience.
