Life after Text is a dramatic animated short that follows a recently released prisoner from Mount joy and his journey back home to his loving wife and child. However life doesn’t seem quite the same.

This film explores a tragic reality that exists in Irish life today. My main objective in creating this film was to break away from the traditional live action road safety ad campaigns, instead choosing animation as the medium to tell this story.

The settings and characters were carefully designed to resonate with Irish people by depicting familiar aspects of Irish culture.

My main methods of production include a combination of 2D and 3D backgrounds and a hybrid approach of rotoscoping and traditional animation techniques.
