Litter garners one of two responses; that of apathy or that of disgust. We encounter it on the paths we walk on, the roads we drive on and the parks we sit in until it becomes just another part of our aesthetic routine. Once useful, functional and attractive, in its redundancy it becomes unappealing.
Through exploring litters bright colours, almost animated forms and bold outline I have transformed it to create aesthetically pleasing and eye catching objects. They become toy-like in their appearance, outwardly attractive, their redefined function demanding attention. My role is that of reclaiming. Objects that repel human interaction call to be picked up.
