My practice is analogous to my personal political activism. The work is consistent with my interest in feminine issues of social and political inequality and the continuing suppression of women in Irish society. My art is ephemeral, site specific and performative by nature. I use the suitcase as a poetic metaphor to raise awareness, embody the “Irish Journey” and denote the burden and restriction exiled women face in order to practice their reproductive rights.
