Killer Girl: Volume 1
Volume 1 is a powerful femme-wear concept reviving the spirit of radical Irish women. This collection is the making of a Killer Girl division of one of the ultimate feminine power forces. These fighters are a reimagination of Cumann na mBan’s energy in a 21st century post-apocalyptic atmosphere. The girls are my ancestors, brought back to life in a package file from a mysterious Sims 4 creator, answering the urgent call from the motherland for help against the forces of evil.
Mashing retro-futurism and neo-Celtic visuals, I created a uniform to fit and empower any femme who signs up to battle. The pieces feature upcycled fabrics sourced from wedding dresses and handmade Irish lace. Experimenting with universal sizing, I am using Irish lace as a unique stretch that embraces the body and moves and grows with it. The looks also refences silhouettes from the Cumann na mBan uniforms, developing a new unique suit of armour with comfort and utility combined. The colour palette is derived from my own digital prints incorporating Irish lace pieces.
