The work aims to look at the autobiographical and intimate nature of the self and the everyday and making the private into the public. In the creation of a body of fragmented work which encompass drawings, extracts of text from my own diaries, journals and notebooks, photography and video work I explore surrounding themes of isolation, private journey, anxieties and melancholia and honest feeling of everyday life.
I wish to incorporate a sense of direct and honest documenting of significant feelings, experiences and moments while maintaining a sense of authenticity in the work as I investigate my own personal experience of the everyday with these incidental pieces. Using low-fi media and materials which carry inherent notions of impermanence I make reference to the passing of time while keeping an awareness of surface, space and how the materials chosen are interacted with and received by the viewer.
