This project is a celebration and expression of the human ability to add sentimental value to any object – even one as seemingly mundane as a sock. The essence of sentimentality was explored by gathering stories from people about what objects they cherish most and why. The repairs were added to the socks as a representation of the memories taking hold and reshaping the function of the original object. It realises the new value added to the object, one that exceeds currency and thrives on the cherishing memories that’s attached to it.
