I have always been obsessed with food. I crave any excuse for a party. I surround my guests with elegance and I lavish them with an elaborate banquet. The dress code is fancy, and the atmosphere is amusement. I only serve to entertain.
My collection draws on Surrealism by reuniting my conscious and unconscious mind. My own memories of food merged with my deepest desires and self-exploration completes the dream world of fantasy where my dinner party takes place. The rational world becomes a surreal reality. Using innovative pattern cutting to create the ingredients, the food served becomes the outfit worn. The menu developed spontaneously, and the colours reflect an outrageously fun and kitsch aesthetic. Delectable textures created using plastic and velvet merge with the sequin, wool, waxed cotton, brocade and satin fabric. Unconscious associations are liberated. The garments look delicious and edible but still function as wearable pieces.
