Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth

Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth, was written by R. Buckminster Fuller. First published in 1968 it still has a potent relevance today. I created a booklet in response to Buckminister Fuller’s writings. Using the Paradise Papers in conjunction with chapter two, The Origins of Specialisation, the reader should conclude that there is an unbalance of power in today’s society. Other themes of control and wealth run through this text. Scale and format were used to disrupt and uncover the corrupt nature of tax havens. Creating a mix of formal text layout and tabloid inspired styles the reader should find the content demanding. The text is pushed off the pages to suggest the problem is expanding. A contrasting treatment of images is employed to communicate the class separation. Fullers thinking orientated around the concept that general education is empowerment, thus specialisation is slavery. The ambition of this work is to educate the reader on the growing separation between the ultra-rich and the rest of the world.
