My collection is based on my relationship with my comfort zone namely, my bed. Whenever I feel tension I retreat to my bedroom. Being wrapped up and consumed by comfort and surrounded by soft fabrics is my escapism.
I grabbed fabric to protect myself from reality. I explored the idea of playing with elastics and wrapping gathered fabric around the body through stand work. The images of my bedding directed the areas of focus on the body. I developed movement throughout the six looks to represent the tossing and turning and pulling of the bedding. I used soft fabrics such as satin, cotton and fleece in white and pink tones which reflect my childhood bedroom.
