An Marbh Soilsithe (The Illuminated Dead)
An Marbh Soilsithe means ‘The Illuminated Dead’ in Irish. The title of this installation refers to the materials used in my current practice, Bog Oak and Resin. My work explores the relationship between light, land, and the blend of the organic and synthetic. Using some toxic mediums throughout my process it contradicts the natural elements used. Having free standing sculptures, I feel gives out an aura of empowerment and reassurance in the darkness.
