Somewhere Untouched

Somewhere untouched is a response to society’s disconnects from nature.

Jordan’s work is grounded in the exploration of untamed, wild Irish landscapes. Addressing questions of what it is that draws us into unpredictable places, that desire nothing from us but allow freedom to rejuvenate and restore our wonder. Through experiences, these landscapes shape how we think, how we move, and how we express ourselves. Her work represents experiences that go beyond the physical elements to something much more about energy and atmosphere, that are beyond the bounds of human expression. Jordan’s abstract compositions explode with colour and energy that instills a sense of wild in her viewer.

Whether it be monoprint, screenprint, painting, or a combination, Jordan works in layers, adding vigorous layers of medium, diluting and removing, scraping layers back to discover something new as the work evolves in front of her. Using the movement of her whole body to make bold marks that translate the experiences of the unpredictable movement in nature, like confident rapids and powerful, rough waves.
