Sin

‘Sin’ is a response to the television show ‘Fleabag’, by exploring the themes of Grief, Sin and
Confession as seen within the show, through publication. The project first originated from
analysing film and television shows, exploring the themes, symbolism, characters, and
overall meanings behind them. This sparked the beginning of this project, stemming from a
strong interest in designing for the arts. ‘Fleabag’ conveys themes such as feminism and
self-worth in a refreshing way that defied many stereotypes that are usually seen with
television depicting women. In Season 2 of ‘Fleabag’, the protagonist (Fleabag) is presented
with a complex romantic relationship with a Priest, introducing the themes of Sin and
Confession into the book in a modern context. In regards to design, these themes were the
most interesting to develop and explore. This publication is a personal interpretation of
these themes in relation to the television show. Regarding strategy, there would be three
books published in total as promotion to the program titled ‘Grief’ ‘Sin’ and ‘Confession’.
What I present in my open project is volume two of the trilogy titled ‘Sin’.
