Based on the treatment of the human body, this work explores our ability to verbally stimulate anxiety easily within ourselves. Combining video and sound, the work depends on human interaction and personal reflection, incorporating the use of mirror to place the viewer within the piece. The use of sound highlights the importance of self-care and the words used within the work stem from experience with the repetitive doubt. This repetition is a vital component regarding imitating life and the cyclic way in which we as people experience the challenges associated with uncertainty and change. An unfluctuating sound permeating throughout the piece contributes to the intense feeling of isolation one would expect to feel while in this complicated state of mind. The visuals in place offer a platform for the viewer to identify with, allowing a face to face human connection. As we work towards a place of open conversation regarding our own personal mental health, it is hoped that this piece forms a bridge of discussion among those who have the opportunity to interact with it.
