The inspiration behind this collection came from my lifelong fascination with trees. My initial research images of early deforestation in the late 1800s to early 1900s brought my attention to the rings of the trunk. I used the layers of the tree rings as my main point of reference. Through experimentation with patterns and use of layering I wanted to create interesting forms and an atmosphere. I wanted the collection to show the calm elegance and strength of trees in the face of the inevitable.
