Beyond Blend Makeup Academy focuses on establishing a dynamic space that seamlessly integrates a retail store, a professional makeup academy, and an event runway space. Rooted in innovation, inclusivity, and artistry, it includes the makeup brand ‘‘Painted‘‘ which aims to redefine the beauty industry and support the mission of empowering individuals through makeup artistry and innovation.

Located at 1 Bishop’s Quay along Limerick’s waterfront, it is a prominent award winning 9-storey glass tower that blends modern design with the historic setting of Bishop’s Place. It is a modern development that integrates advanced sustainable technologies, and a LEED Gold Certificate.

My concept for this project is centered on transparency. The core idea is to challenge the perception of makeup as a mask and instead present it as a tool to reveal personality, individuality, and authenticity. To translate this concept into spatial design, I incorporated  materials such as dichroic glass. This glass embodies the transparency concept, and its ability to shift colours aligns with the brand’s bold and colourful identity. The colour red is used to symbolise the powerful message of Beyond Blend as it has the power to draw attention and showcase confidence. The interplay of transparency and vibrancy creates a powerful metaphor for makeup as a tool that reveals rather than conceals.

Beyond Blend provides a unique, immersive experience that connects customers with the brand on a deeper level. It creates an inspiring and collaborative headquarters that supports the brand’s team in their mission to innovate and grow. There will be cultural impact redefining how makeup spaces function, promoting inclusivity and creativity.
