I have designed an app specifically for discovering attractions with connections to dark tourism. This app isn’t only for tourism, but to educate visitors on the historical and cultural significance of these dark tourism sites and encourage mindful travelling. This app can be used after arrival to your city of choice, while also providing the option to save attractions before travelling. The attractions are separated in various ways for easy navigation, by category and by popularity. There are also set self-guided walking tours that users would have the option to walk at their own pace. Travellers would be able to locate sites through both the interactive map and the detailed search page, each site has information and pictures with the option to be added to the user profile to visit later or to be saved to the user history once visited. If a user is near a site, they will receive a notification with the options to view a recreation of the attraction at the site and listen to a short audio file.
