Éadaoin Walsh

thalassophile

A thalassophile is someone who is completely drawn to the sea in all forms. Éadaoin’s project looks back to her childhood growing up in County Clare and spending lots of time seaside, constantly being drawn to the ocean and having a fond love for the Irish coastline. Her romantic and feminine silhouettes are heavily inspired by the organic coastline and all it’s components; seaweed, shells, waves, sand, marram grass. Her colour pallet also draws inspiration from the tones of the coast. Using the seascape as her source of inspiration, sustainability was an important factor for Éadaoin’s material choice. She used 100% Linen from John England, Armagh.

Éadaoin has just launched her first mini collection of 10 pieces to Om Diva boutique on Drury Street in Dublin. The collection is used from a mix of deadstock, upcycled and new materials to create unique one of a kind pieces.
