Claire Forward

Apricity

Claire, a printmaking graduate, is endlessly captivated by the beauty of the natural world and the delicate interplay of light and warmth from the sun. She finds inspiration in the fleeting moments of pink-tinged skies and golden sunlight at sunrise and sunset.

Through her work, she seeks to capture the essence of Apricity – the delicate warmth of the sun in winter, illuminating the landscape with a golden radiance, and the palpable sense of comfort and rejuvenation accompanying its arrival. It’s now an obsolete word, but by using it, she hopes to bring a conscious awareness of the word and the experience it embodies.  Similarly, Claire explores the allure of the golden hour—the magical moments to be cherished at sunrise or sunset, when the world is bathed in a soft, pink, golden light.

Viewers are invited to immerse themselves in the tranquillity of Apricity, to feel the warmth of the sun on their faces, the colours, and the timeless allure of this transient phenomenon. They are encouraged to pause, reflect, and appreciate the fleeting moments of beauty that surrounds us each day.
