Little Haven is a vibrant children’s play center nestled in Limerick City, designed with a heartfelt commitment to inclusive play. Inspired by universal design principles, it offers a sensory-rich environment fostering imagination and meaningful social interactions. The concept draws from the graceful curves of the native Irish forest’s Pearl Oyster mushroom, reflected in its organic design elements and a thoughtfully selected colour palette reminiscent of nature’s hues. Located in the former tourist office at Arthurs Quay, every inch of the space, including the adjacent park, is utilised to create a playful and inclusive experience. At Little Haven bespoke installations evoke a whimsical sense of discovery, inviting children of all abilities to explore, create, and connect. Through carefully curated activities, the center promotes inclusive play, interaction, and sensory richness, allowing children to unleash their creativity while keeping their senses engaged at a moderate level. By breaking down barriers and celebrating diversity, Little Haven aims to redefine the concept of play, fostering empathy, understanding, and a brighter future for all children. It stands as a beacon of hope and belonging, encouraging inclusion and compassion in today’s society.
