Hey, I am alone not lonely.

I was inspired by the Malaysian childhood pet the ‘Betta fish’ also known as the ‘fighting fish’ because they tend to fight with one another over territory, often to the death. The fish forces itself to adapt to its environment and survive, not only that but comes out on top, becoming the beautiful and magnificent creature it is.

This collection is showing the journey and evolution of the fish from first to last outfit. My aim is to create an evening womenswear collection incorporating tailored and sculptural pieces while also looking at flowing and pleated elements. I used duchess satin for the tailored body, lightweight satin and crepe to create flowing and pleated element, also uses soft tulle and stiff net to create sculptural features.
