I am inspired by micro-organisms. Like all living things they grow, reproduce and die. They respond to their environment and to each other. There is competition and cooperation.
Trillions of bacterial cells live within our body, organisms so small that they cannot be seen by the naked eye. They exist, but how we visualise them through computer renderings partly comes from imagination. In the lab environment, a single species of bacteria can be isolated and grown in vast numbers to form colonies and clusters that become visible to us.
I aim to explore the line between fiction and reality.
