I am interested in the residue of lives lived and what happens to objects left behind. I am exploring this through found domestic and farm objects from a country farm house that are experiencing decay. I feel it is important to retrieve and record these objects before they become obsolete and in some way extend their lives. I intend for elements of the work to connect to the real lives of people whilst hinting at loss and memory. Retaining their physical, and functional identity, together these abandoned objects form an artistic assemblage.
“Our losses recalled, be they, things or times come weighed with intermittencies of the mind, murmurings of inner inconsistencies that never quite grasp what has been and what remains to us in the wake.”
