Seeds of Change – The Story of Women in Agriculture

“Seeds of Change” honours women in agriculture and all of the hard work that they have done throughout the years. It draws attention to the effort that women have done and continue to do to support farms, despite the many challenges and discrimination they continue to encounter. By delving into the experiences of women in agriculture, “Seed of Change” exposes the resilience and innovation required to thrive in this traditionally male-dominated industry. It amplifies their voices, providing a platform to share their stories, struggles, and triumphs. Through the lens of these interviews, readers gain a deeper understanding of the multifaceted nature of women’s roles in agriculture, from managing households to leading farm operations. Their insights illuminate the interconnectedness of gender, agriculture, and sustainable development, inspiring readers to acknowledge and appreciate the invaluable contributions of women farmers worldwide. This book serves not only as a tribute to women in agriculture but also as a catalyst for broader conversations surrounding gender equality and rural development. It challenges prevailing narratives and underscores the urgent need for collective action to empower women farmers and create a more equitable agricultural landscape.

Welcome to RALLY the Limerick School of Art & Design Graduate Show of 2021 featuring the work of final year LSAD Graduates from Animation & Motion Design, Creative Broadcast & Film Production, Ceramic Design, Creative Media and Design, Digital Animation Production, Fashion Design, Fashion & Textiles for Product & Costume, Game Art & Design, Graphic Design Communication, Music Technology & Production, Painting, Photography Film Video, Print Contemporary Practice, Sculpture & Combined Media and Professional Masters of Education in Art and Design with Digital Media.

We chose RALLY to define this year characterising our collective student spirit. To rally is to rouse and come together to renew an effort. Rally is a call to action that is strong and celebratory. Our RALLY is an online celebration of a cohesive community.

Limerick School of Art and Design Graduate Show 2021 takes the form of an online showcase to celebrate the resilience, creativity and brilliance of our final year students. Our LSAD Graduate Showcase is a platform for our graduates and their work, and is part of a growing LSAD archive of student work now in its 7^th edition. This year we also commissioned three films to document and celebrate the work of our students across the three Departments

For the second time we present our graduate work solely on virtual platforms. The shock of the pandemic has faded and now we reflect our interaction with the world in new ways. Achieving the learning outcomes in ways that would have seemed impossible previously. It has been a tremendous challenge for our students and staff to adapt to these new circumstances. We are overwhelmed by the creativity and tenacity of our students who have accomplished so much in these constrained circumstances.

We would like to thank all those who helped make it happen this year in challenging circumstances. We applaud each of our dedicated Academics, our ever reliant Technical Team, Administrators and support staff, most importantly the 2021 graduates.
