Always Turning – Sea Oh When & Kieran Hemming (Culla’s Natural Feelings Mix) Music Video
This project relates strongly to my work in LIT over the last few years. I’ve brought together skills I’ve learned in my music production classes, music theory classes and recording classes to help me write and record this remix. The advanced mixing module gave me the platform to attempt this remix and the knowledge of how to approach such a remix and how the balance of the final product could be optimised. The original song and all of the stems and material for this remix comes from two third year LIT Music Technology and Production students. The video clips and editing were provided by a friend of mine, Jamie Moore, whom I met through the friends I made during this degree.
The idea behind this remix and accompanying video is to try and bring the meaning of the song in a new direction that I can relate with in my own way. Having added my own vocals and instrumentation I feel like I have applied my own emotional connection to what this song means i.e., it shows my natural feelings. The video is meant to support this theme with wordplay, showing beautiful nature scenes giving the watcher that feeling of a connection to nature.
