3D Character Artist Research and Development
This project was proposed as I realised that I needed to spend more time and attention on improving my 3D modelling, texturing and rendering skills for the field that I was going into and after doing this not only have I developed a strong 3D Art Style for myself and improved my 3D Skills tremendously, I also have come to understand of the development of a professional production pipeline. Gaining permission from professional concept and character designers, I was able to bring their designs to life through a new medium as well as hone and polish my craft, bringing it to a higher level.
This showcases my findings as I delve deeper into Blender’s tools and systems available so that I can both learn and develop an efficient workflow for myself as well as how to use systems such as the shader network and non-destructive modifiers to enhance my skill level and quality of my character models to a professional standard. These tools helped me in making ready-to-rig low poly character models that can be picked up by a 3D Rigging artist for production but also as pieces that I can look back on and be proud of.
