Intramural 2017

My current practice focuses on the body’s organic forms exploring growth, disease, cells, defence mechanisms, matter and form. This exploration and connection of the internal and external spaces of the body is live, not just research based but a physical representation of experiences, visually and mentally re-creating the world around me. The intention is to create a visual language through corporeal awareness and materiality that expresses an embodied experience through soft sculpture, were the body’s internal micro world becomes macro. The internal structures held up and in by the human body, challenging me to work from the inner core to the outer shell. I find peace in repetition, listening to the materials weight, textures and colours.
