My work is an expression of the tension between life’s joys and crippling complexities, tied to the existential awareness of having a physical form. I explore the juxtaposition between childlike wonder and the weight of existence, using found materials, textiles, natural objects and colours to evoke both comfort and unease., to bring to attention the strange nature of so many of us floating through life in a state of awe and dread at our condition.
By embracing gesture, staining, collage, sewing, writing, and drawing, I aim to capture fleeting moments—both internal and external—transforming them into tangible expressions of self. I aim to blur the line between escapism and presence, exploring what it means to simply exist.
The process itself is a mix of spontaneity, illustration and self-soothing, a search for comfort within the inevitability of change and decay. I collect, assemble, and repurpose objects and images from my surroundings, using them to combine the inner self with the unpredictable nature of the world. My art aims to share a space for reflection, nostalgia, and emotional release—a chaotic yet tender exploration of growth and impermanence.
