The aim of this project is to transform an 1800s convent into a vibrant, contemporary hostel while preserving its historical character and architectural integrity. The Cnoc & Croi hostel will provide affordable and communal lodging experience rooted in wellness, local heritage, and nature.
The hostel is located in Templemore town centre, County Tipperary. It features a choice of accommodation such as shared dorms and double rooms, a long with a tea bar and lounge, a spacious communal kitchen and dining area designed for cooking workshops and tastings, and finally, open and inviting spaces that foster connection among guests.
Unique amenities include a restored chapel bathhouse with a sauna, steam room, infrared loungers, pool, and jacuzzies. The surrounding gardens feature plunge pools, a waterfall leading to a larger outdoor pool. An on-site herb and vegetable garden where seasonals produce is grown and harvested. A separate garden area can host community events such as farmers markets and gardening workshops for the local community. Set near a lake, local park, and Devils Bit Mountain, the location encourages exploration, with the hostel offering a place to return, recharge, and reconnect.
